Pearl WAS a show. This story of a middle-aged loading dock manager (Perlman) who finally gets to go to university may have only lasted one season, but it certainly had an all star cast! She spars with her pompous and elitist professor Stephen Pynchon (McDowell) because he doesn’t believe a working class student like Pearl has any place in an institution of higher learning.
